Context: How to design anything, an exploration into shadows. This is a project I did as part of a class call how to design anything. It was a studio focus class on the design creative process. We did a whole survey of design, looking at product design, design thinking, architecture, website design, then we learned about various methodologies, processes, rapid implementation techniques, and then using all these inspiration to build a prototype of a product, design piece, or art installation. My design piece was trying to combine the narrative between time and shadows. I was interested in bringing back the sun dial back for a more contempory setting. It started off with an idea around shadows, and then the idea slowly evolved to clock that used shadows to tell time. The product consist of three concentric pieces that when you shine light on it, the shadows will tell you what time it is. You can find more information about my design process @ Shadow Dial
