Week 6: Iteration and Evolution
For this week, I wanted to explore the outer structure of my inverted sun dial and see how it would look and feel as a stationary. The way I imagine the device is used is that it is a stationary clock that goes on your desk. The form should then inform me the function such as can it be used as a desk light as well or is it a pure clock. The form will also dictate the mechanism that I will have to design in the later stage of the project to create the shadows. The ideas were built from a bottom-up approach. I started with regular solids, move to square shapes, circular shapes and into more abstract pavilion sculptures.
