Product:
The MIT PEV is an autonomous platform project that seeks to envision a future where vehicles drive themselves. Beyond making autonomous driving possible, the MIT PEV project seeks to make autonomous vehicles usable, user friendly, enviormentally friendly through exploring new ideas in urban planning, last mile logistics, and user experience design.
My Contribution:
I took on a variety of product development roles for the project across various teams. I helped with the fabrication of the vehicle itself through design and assembly the prototype. I conducted data analysis on Boston data base on usage patterns and time of use. Using the data, I also helped design a simulation showcasing the potential effect of autonomous vehicles on a city like boston, and how that it would impact the traffic flow. I worked across cross-disciplinary teams with engineering graduate students, designers, urban-planners, and architects. This has both taught me the value of teamwork as well as the effect of an multi-disciplinary approach toward product development.
